It's been said "the eyes are the window to the soul". The phrase often means that a person's eyes can reveal a lot about a person's emotions and inner feelings. Maybe because we use our eyes to express some emotions, like furrow our brows to show sad or worried feelings or open our eyes wide to show surprise or astonishment and even smiling makes our eyes sort of twinkle. But given the skin around the eyes is thin, all these facial movements, plus aging, the sun and genetics lead to one thing, lines. Whether they are crow's feet. or the tiny hatch marks below the eyes, we are always on the hunt to get rid of them. And I think I have found a solution.

Eye creams and serums that really work and deliver are the hardest products for me to find. I can't even count how many I have tired and how much money I've spent only to be disappointed. I'm not saying I need immediate gratification (which would be nice) but i do want to see something after continued use. I know as well as you do that there isn't any cream or serum that will give you "baby eyes". What I am saying is that I have seen definite improvement with consistent use of the products I use to the point of someone saying to me the other day, "but didn't you have your eyes done".

So here is what I have been using on a consistent basis. You may want to give these a try!

I'll start off with some serums that I apply before I use an eye cream.

  1. The Ordinary Multii-Peptide Eye Serum. I use a lot of products from the Ordinary because they are affordable and work. This one is no different. It's a water-based serum that's designed to target the appearance the common signs of aging around the eye area. It uses multiple peptide technologies that help reduce the appearance of crow's feet and under eye wrinkles, eye bags, puffiness and dark circles. I use it AM and PM, using a drop for both eyes, around the bottom of the eye (orbital bone) and under the brow. I don't use this on my lids. A word about peptides in eye products. They are known to reduce puffiness caused by water retention, increase collagen production which in time can make skin firmer and fuller, hence filling in wrinkles and fine lines, and help reduce eye bags and dark circles. Bottom line, multi peptides encourage the body to produce more collagen, leading to firmer looking skin.

  2. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution. I was a faithful user of this serum day and night before trying the multi peptide serum. This is a great serum for puffiness and dark circles. I still use this one for day and the multi peptide for night. If you want to go with one, I suggest the multi-peptide. The multi peptide is more expensive than the caffeine and I use both just to "stretch out the product ". But I would not be without the Mult peptide because it's that good!

  3. The Ordinary Argireline Solution. This little miracle has been dubbed "Botox in a bottle. We've all heard this before, but this one really does work. What is Argireline? Its a synthetic peptide which works like Botox in the sense it prevents the release of neurotransmitters (acetylcholine) that is responsible for muscle contractions. The lack of muscle contractions can reduce dynamic movements like the crow's feet and the 11's between the brows. It's also known to promote collagen and elastin as well. Results: a great line smoother to add to your arsenal. A few drops around the eyes and forehead as well. And yes, you can layer these products. Just give a minute in between to let your skin absorb each one and keep it to no more than 4 serums. Now for the eye creams. There are two that I recommend because they have worked for me and as I have said, I cannot tell you how much money I have spent on trying to find the right one that delivers. So here you go! 1. At the top of my list is SkinCeutical A.G.E. Advanced Eye Cream. This basically takes care of all the eye problems discussed and more. Fights the appearance of crow's feet, puffiness and dark circles and nothing has made my undereye area as smooth as this eye cream! Its key ingredients are a combination of everything you would want in an eye cream, and you can read all the technical stuff on the website, but the bottom line is it's great! Yes, it's pricey. But it works and we're worth it! And I will never be without it! 2. Second on my list is from Clinique. All About Eyes Rich eye cream with Hyaluronic acid. Before I found SkinCeuicals, this was my go-to eye cream. I love it and I still use it. This in the morning, SkinCeuticals in evening. Just pat around your orbital bone and under brow. I think you will love it!

So, there you have it. Liz's eye regime. Sounds like a lot of time to do but it really isn't.

And the rewards are there. Goodbye lines, hello to beautiful, refreshed eyes!
